Getting started

Tably is a native app for reading and taking part in TabNews, the Brazilian community for technology and programming, on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision Pro.

What Tably is

Tably talks only to the public TabNews API. Everything the TabNews website lets you do with your account works in the app, for free: reading, rating with tabcoins, commenting, publishing, editing and deleting.

Note

Tably is an independent app. It isn't made by or affiliated with TabNews.

Your first minute

The first time you open Tably, a short welcome explains TabNews, tabcoins and tabcash. Then the feed is right there: reading never asks for an account or any permission.

The five tabs

  • Home: your tabcoins, what you were reading and today's highlights.
  • Feed: Relevant and Recent posts from TabNews, and your RSS sources.
  • Library: posts you liked, read and rated, plus saved posts with Tably Pro.
  • Settings: your account, appearance, language, guides and Tably Pro.
  • Search: Trending, a cloud of the topics TabNews is talking about.

On iPhone the tabs sit at the bottom of the screen, with Search on its own at the right. On iPad and Mac they can become a sidebar. Each tab keeps its own place, so you can switch without losing your way.

Taking part

To rate, comment and publish, sign in with your TabNews account in Settings. See Account and sign in.

To write a post, tap the pencil at the top of Home or Feed. Touch and hold it for your drafts. See Publishing and drafts.

Guides in the app

Settings › Guides has a short guide for every part of Tably, with your progress and what to read next. Each one takes a minute or two.
