Your Tably

Trending and topics

The Search tab opens Trending: a cloud of the most relevant topics from TabNews posts and your sources, sized by relevance.

Choosing the period

Use the calendar menu in the toolbar to pick the last 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. Tably remembers your choice. The footer says how many posts and articles the topics come from.

How topics are found

TabNews has no tags and its API has no search, so Tably works topics out on your device:

  1. It gathers the posts of the period and the articles of your sources.
  2. It picks nouns, names and acronyms from titles and article summaries, in Portuguese and English, and keeps known expressions such as open source together.
  3. A post weighs more with more tabcoins and comments, without drowning out the rest.
  4. The 40 most relevant topics found in at least 2 posts or articles make the cloud.

Opening a topic

Tap a topic to see its posts and articles, by relevance and then by date. The five biggest topics use the accent color, but color is never the only signal: VoiceOver reads the topics in order of relevance, with how many posts each one has.

Muting a topic

Tably Pro

With Tably Pro, touch and hold a topic and choose Mute to hide it everywhere. See Filters.

Offline

Without a connection, Trending uses the posts it already gathered.

There's no text search, because the TabNews API doesn't offer one. Trending is the way to explore what's being discussed.
