Tably Docs Get Tably

Reading

Posts and comments

Posts open in Tably's own Markdown reader, built for what TabNews publishes: code, tables and long discussions.

The reader

Tably reads the same Markdown as the TabNews website: headings, lists, quotes, code with syntax highlighting, tables, task lists, footnotes, emoji shortcodes and images. Wide code and tables scroll sideways instead of wrapping.

Text follows your text size, all the way to the largest accessibility sizes.

The header shows the title, the author (tap to open the profile), the date, the tabcoins and the number of comments. Edited posts say so. When a post links to a source, its domain appears as a link.

Actions

  • Like: the heart keeps the post in your Library. It's private and doesn't spend tabcoins.
  • Share: shares the link to the post on tabnews.com.br.
  • Translate: shows up when the post is in another language. See Translation.
  • More: hide the post or block its author, or edit and delete it when it's yours.

Comments

Comments load after the post, as a tree in the order TabNews gives them. The indentation stops at a limit, so deep conversations stay readable even on iPhone.

  • Tap an author to collapse or expand their comment and the replies below it.
  • Touch and hold a comment to reply, see the profile or translate. On Mac, Control-click it.
  • Each comment has compact rating arrows next to its tabcoins.

Profiles

A profile shows the person's bio, their tabcoins and tabcash, how long they've been a member, and their posts and comments.

A link to a single comment opens that comment, with a button to see the whole discussion.
