Apple TV
On Apple TV, Tably is for reading from the couch. Rating, commenting and publishing happen on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
What's there
The same five tabs, Home, Feed, Library, Settings and Search, without the pencil. Like is in the post menu. The Feed has a Refresh button next to the order picker.
Reading in two pages
Posts open like a book, with two pages side by side. Press left or right on the remote to turn the pages, and the indicator shows where you are, such as Pages 3–4 of 12. Text is never shrunk, so it reads well from across the room.
Tably remembers the page you stopped on and opens there next time.
Comments
On the last page, press select to open the comments, and Back to return to the same page.
With VoiceOver
With VoiceOver on, the post shows as one continuous page, because turning pages depends on the remote.
Signing in with iPhone
- On Apple TV, open Settings and choose Sign In with iPhone.
- Pick your iPhone. Tably opens on it and asks whether to sign in on Apple TV with your account.
- Confirm. Your session travels over an encrypted local connection, never through a server of ours.
This needs an Apple TV 4K and your iPhone signed in to Tably, on the same network. Signing out on Apple TV keeps you signed in on iPhone. Creating an account and resetting the password happen on iPhone, iPad or Mac.
Your Library on TV
With Tably Pro, your Library, sources, hidden posts and blocks arrive on Apple TV through iCloud.
